Classrooms have not fundamentally changed in over 100 years. That cluster of desks facing a teacher who addresses the class with the traditional educational tools of books and blackboard is essentially the same now as it was in the 19th century. The differences are largely cosmetic: the blackboard is now a whiteboard.

Imagine a trip to Outer Space. An image of a rocket is projected onto a massive screen three metres wide. Red and yellow lights flicker to stimulate fire blazing from the exhaust nozzles. The sound of the rocket engines blasts from all sides of the room; the bass rumble resonating and shaking the walls while smoke drifts into the air. The temperature rises and the tension builds towards lift off…And then the background narration stops, waiting for a response from a user switch pad. The correct switch has to be pressed before the story moves on. This is the reality of a truly interactive classroom, a Virtual World in the classroom of the future!
